The Spray Painter / Sandblaster is responsible for performing abrasive blasts to surface of metal or hard composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt to achieve a specified finish. Applies paint or similar type coatings either by spraying or brushing on to surfaces.

Australian Recognised Trade Certificate and or Vocational Experience
Forklift Licence
Australian HR Drivers Licence
Essential Criteria
5 years relevant experience working on a variety of equipment
Proven exposure to application of specialised protective coatings
Proven experience performing duties in a safe, efficient and competent manner
Desirable Criteria
Working at Heights Certificate
Elevated Work Platform
White Card
Current Australian First Aid Certificate
Key Responsibilities
Participate in alcohol testing before commencing duties and drug testing in accordance with COMPANY policies and procedures
Ensure the Workshop Manager is notified of any absence from work by way of a phone call, where possible before the start time of that shift, a text message is not acceptable and evidence of reason may be required
Immediately notify your supervisor of any major defects found whilst performing duties
Only operate equipment that you have been assessed as competent to operate
Ensure scope of works for each piece of equipment is adhered too
Complete daily time sheets accurately and in a timely manner including clocking in and off work hours
Ensure all COMPANY policies, procedures and instructions are adhered to at all times
Ensure that all equipment that is being parked up is safe and a post check is conducted at the end of each shift
Ensuring repairs are completed within the scope and time frames allocated
Ensure an inspection of work area and surrounds are conducted twice daily and good housekeeping principals applied to work area
Ensure all defects and hazards are reported for future action (defects of a minor nature are to be rectified at the time of inspection)
Complete a minimum of 3 take five risk assessments daily and ensure risk assessments and or permits are completed for all uncontrolled risks
Perform any additional tasks as directed which are within your skill, qualification, and competence level
